Turismo ornitológico: Observación de aves y fauna en espacios naturales de Castilla-La Mancha
Little Monfragüe, is like we call to a small cuarcitic Range Mountain of Castilla-La Mancha Region called "Sierra del Relumbrar", quite similar to its big brother of Extremadura. This area belongs to Natura 2000 Network of Albacete province. The area is important for the conservation of endangered species such as the Iberian imperial eagle, the Iberian Lynx and the golden eagle.
The world´s largest flying bird in the world, the great bustard (Otis tarda), inhabits the plains of San Clemente SPA an area belonging to Natura 2000 Networkin central Spain. Come with us and experience a real safari in search of manchego "ostrich"!
Our region is not only plains and crops. In Albacete we can find mountains of over 2,000 meters, canyons and large forest areas. The home of the ibex, griffon vultures, lammergeiers, endemic plants and reptiles, ancestral traditions and life style. Because of the breathtaking mountain scenery, the isolation of the area and the low population density, are "La Mancha Himalayas".
Petrola Lagoon Natural Reserve and the Wetlands belonging World Biosphere Reserve of La Mancha Húmeda, form one of the sets of most important wetlands in Spain for the conservation of birds. Most of these spaces are also Special Bird Protection Areas (SPAs) and Wetlands of International Significance under the Ramsar Convention.
Close to Madrid, just an hour and twenty minutes away, lies the Hoz Del Río Gritos Special Protection Area for Birds, in the province of Cuenca. Over thousands of years, the river has carved out an incredible canyon, creating a unique setting made up of sharp curves, huge cliffs and rock faces that rise to over 100 meters at some points. Indeed, this region is an important environmental reserve for birds of prey. Live the adventure and explore this natural treasure steeped in magic and mystery.
¿Would you like to stay a weekend listening the call of the deer in Montes de Toledo?
During the weekend we will live one of the most hectic times of the year in the Mediterranean forest, the mating season of the red deer. We will also have time to hike while observing the flora, fauna and landscapes of the Mediterranean forest. In addition to deer in the area we can see other species such as Spanish Imperial Eagle, Golden Eagle, Cinereous Vulture, Crossbill, Crested Tit, Sardinian Warbler...
